Dr. Marie Fang is a California psychologist and founder of Private Practice Skills. In this episode, we cover so much goodness! We get into travel hacking, why she chose YouTube to market herself, and working with her frugal nature.

Here are this episode’s takeaways:

  1. Overcoming Frugality. Being frugal can be helpful, but it’s not the only way to engage with money. As Marie shared, it’s a process to get comfortable spending money when you are frugal, but spending in accordance with your values helps. While Marie still loves thrift shopping, she’s gotten better at spending her money to improve the quality of her life.

  2. Managing Money is more than spending less. Marie shared that her way of coping with money was anxiously holding onto money. When it comes to managing, she thinks of it as more of an engaged and intentional process which she’s gotten better at over time. When you apply that to your life, consider how much you are intentionally engaging with it.

  3. Travel Hacking: Marie and I BOTH are fans of travel hacking! You know I’ve said before there isn’t one right way to do money! In a nutshell, travel hacking is leveraging when you have good credit and trust yourself to pay off your credit card statements monthly for free or reduced travel.
